Brief Description We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced
Training and Development Manager to join our team at Westbrook Health Services. In this role, you will oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of training programs for staff at all levels, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and engaging learning experiences that align with our organization's mission to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with behavioral health needs.
As a key leader within the Human Resources department, the Training and Development Manager will design and execute learning initiatives that enhance the skills, knowledge, and competencies of our workforce, promoting professional growth, compliance with healthcare standards, and optimal client care.
Key Responsibilities - Training Program Development & Delivery:
- Design, develop, and implement effective training programs tailored to meet the needs of staff across various departments, including clinical, administrative, and support teams.
- Utilize a variety of instructional methods (in-person, virtual, e-learning) to deliver training programs effectively.
- Ensure training content aligns with the organization's goals, behavioral healthcare industry standards, and compliance regulations.
- Needs Assessment & Evaluation:
- Conduct regular assessments to identify the training and development needs of staff and the organization as a whole.
- Collaborate with department leaders and clinical supervisors to identify knowledge gaps and performance improvement opportunities.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics.
- Compliance & Regulatory Training:
- Ensure that all training programs are compliant with state, federal, and accreditation requirements (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA, CARF, OHFLAC).
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, compliance regulations, and best practices in behavioral healthcare training.
- Staff Development & Mentorship:
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Support career growth initiatives by offering coaching and guidance to employees, assisting with personal development goals, and promoting leadership opportunities.
- Leadership & Collaboration:
- Lead and manage the Learning & Development team, including trainers and support staff.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including department heads, HR, and senior management, to align training programs with organizational goals.
- Provide leadership and direction in the identification and creation of new training initiatives in response to evolving organizational needs.
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Track and report on training metrics, including participation rates, learning outcomes, and overall impact on employee performance and organizational goals.
- Maintain training records and documentation to ensure compliance and ease of access for audits and accreditation reviews.
- Budget & Resource Management:
- Manage the training budget, allocating resources for materials, external trainers, and learning technology.
- Ensure cost-effective use of resources while maintaining the quality of training programs.
Qualifications - Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Psychology, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in training and development required with at least 1 year in a managerial or leadership role is preferred. Experience in a behavioral healthcare or healthcare setting is highly preferred.
- Certifications:
- Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or similar certifications (e.g., SHRM, HRCI) preferred.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and training delivery methods.
- Expertise in compliance regulations within the behavioral healthcare sector.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to assess training needs, design programs, and evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient in Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning tools.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team.
Physical Demands - Ability to occasionally lift and carry training materials or equipment (up to 25 pounds).
- Must be able to sit for extended periods and occasionally travel between locations as required.
Working Conditions - This position typically operates in an office environment but may require occasional travel to other facilities or community locations for training purposes.
- Some evening or weekend work may be required based on training schedules and deadlines.
