Job Description

A Sr. Motion Designer at Raindrop is responsible for pushing the high-level creative at our agency and providing support to other motion/design team members. You will collaborate closely with the Associate Creative Director, Design to create engaging visuals that enhance the narrative of the creative and that are in line with the brand’s visual language. You will also collaborate with the Production & Copy teams.

This role requires a breadth of experience beyond technical skills in After Effects and into branding, concepting, compositing/VFX, solid design principles, and more. You will need to have a firm grasp of assigned clients’ brand guidelines, understand how to translate that into motion graphics, and review other team members’ work to maintain these standards to deliver polished end products to our clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Motion Design

• Oversees assigned accounts (retainer clients) and have a base understanding of each brand’s tone and style to be able to provide appropriate and accurate feedback
• Contributes to Pre-Production processes through concepting & storyboarding for animated sections of high-level creative (Anchors, Explainer Videos, etc.)
• Within assigned clients, participates in AVT meetings to provide insight from a Motion Design lens for animated sections, supers, etc.
• Creates/collaborates with design team to develop branded graphics to animate

• Designs motion graphics including titles/supers, explainer videos, and more
• Keeping up-to-speed with the latest trends, big ideas, and innovations in content marketing 

Technical Capabilities

• Expert at Adobe After Effects
• Skilled in other Design Software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Figma, etc.)
• Skilled in Compositing/VFX
• Navigates tools and creates efficiencies in workflows 
• Minimal errors and revisions

Leadership

• Be a point person for your assigned clients’ motion design needs
• Provide creative review & mentorship to mid-to-associate level Motion Designers/contractors
• Collaborate with ACD, Design to flag and develop new processes as we continue to grow

Requirements

• 3-5 years of motion design experience, preferably at an agency
• Proficient in Adobe CC; specifically, After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop
• Bonus: Experience in Cinema 4D / Blender / Other 3D Software
• Firm grasp of design principles including composition, color theory, illustration, and typography
• Project Management Skills
• Positive, humble, collaborative demeanor with a solutions-based attitude
