Our Real Assets team is currently seeking an Investment Officer I to perform a variety of functions to expand the opportunistic/higher returning exposure of the real estate portfolio and drive our CalPERS mission.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assisting the Investment Manager in monitoring portfolio activity and performance to ensure compliance with the contractual arrangements and our underwriting.
- Assisting management in the implementation of the Real Assets Strategic Plan with the sourcing and underwriting of new investment opportunities, including new partnerships.
- Assist in performing due diligence tasks with a focus on risk assessment, including, among others, financial statements, advisors’ reports, financial models, legal documents, and investment memorandums.
- Providing input into strategic planning, capital allocations, and investment decisions.
- Assisting in the development of new tools and reports for data gathering and research assessment.
Telework Information : This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with up to two days of remote work and three days or more onsite, per week.

- Flexibility in adaptation to changes in priorities, assignments, and interruptions which may impact pre-established timelines and processes.
- Experience utilizing software programs such as Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Argus.
- 1-2 years of experience in a professional environment.
- BS or BA degree preferred.
