Title: Senior Linux System Engineer
Location: DC & Northern VA
Salary Range: $175-200K

The Linux systems engineer is responsible for creating and documenting the framework of technical standards and procedures, and supports the engineering team in solutioning, engineering and system administration tasks. Ensures overall product quality by working closely with PM and government technical leads. Understand and use essential tools for handling files, directories, command-line environments, and documentation.

The Linux systems engineer is responsible for assisting other team members with the technical aspects of their jobs, assisting with training and onboarding new hires, assisting in identification and triage of technical issues
and requests and populating engineering backlog of know work requests and identified bugs. Assist in prioritizing, delegating and clarifying work assignments as appropriate. Explain technical considerations, environment, and projects to external system partners. Work with IA and security teams to ensure proper software versioning, scanning and patching of systems, and
compliance with ATO/accreditation standards.

Description:
 Strong understanding of Linux. Including but not limited to SELinux, daemons, user management, storage management, and log diving techniques. 
 Network methodologies/using squid service for transit proxy configuration.
 Familiarity with nginx and reverse proxy configurations. 
 Working knowledge of troubleshooting/managing docker (docker
compose, backup and restore docker components, etc.)
 Familiarity with JFrog/Artifactory (configuring repos and artifacts and
integration with docker hub registry)
 Able to manage guacamole virtual desktops and provision user accounts and environments with xrdp. 
 Ability to use AWS CLI tool to quickly perform tasks and gather data regarding AWS services (EC2, S3, EBS, etc.)
 Strong background in bash scripting to automate tasks and operations on multiple fabrics. 
 Understand how to provision and manage Keycloak; authentication mechanism for realms, clients, and user roles.

Requirements:
 Top Secret Clearance
 SCI eligible
 IAT Level II certification
 Experience with posix-compliant OS:
 Possess a strong command of the Linux command line
 Experience with scripting languages such as Bash or Python, JavaScript, PHP, or Ruby
 Experience in installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux systems, including software updates and security patches
 Knowledge of cloud platforms, such as AWS.

Preferred, but Not Required
 Red Hat Certified System Engineer (RHCSE)
