Mostafavi Law Group, APC is a boutique litigation and trial firm in Los Angeles. We are seeking a driven, organized, and detail-oriented Legal Assistant/Law Clerk. We are dedicated to advancing workers’ rights, rooting out corrupt business practices, and securing justice for employees who have experienced discrimination, harassment, or retaliation. We also assist attorneys who have been sued for legal malpractice by their current or former clients or are being investigated by the California State Bar for ethical violations.
The applicant should be a self-starter interested in assisting with our firm’s history of rapid growth and exceptional service. The position requires very small administrative tasks (e.g., calendaring, mail sorting and scanning, and answering telephones, while mainly based on law clerical work (e.g., legal research, drafting of discovery and demand letters, and witness interviews).
The position entails a wide range of duties, including but not limited to client intake and follow-up communications, maintaining client files, preparing court filings and services, assisting with written discovery, gathering documents and information from clients and witnesses, legal calendaring, and trial preparation. Must be computer proficient (MacOS, MS Office, Adobe Acrobat) and comfortable learning relevant substantive areas of law practiced at the firm.
The position requires the candidate to have a JD degree. Prior legal experience, particularly in employment litigation and or legal malpractice, is preferred but is not required.
