$26 - $32 per hour

- Full-time, Non-Exempt / Hourly
- Monday - Friday: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM
- Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote after 90 days)

Position Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Entry-Level Commercial Multiple Peril (CMP) Underwriter to join our underwriting team. In this exciting role, you will assist with evaluating and underwriting commercial risks, gaining valuable experience in assessing exposures, and determining the right coverage for various commercial clients. This position is a great opportunity for recent graduates or individuals with some prior experience in insurance who are eager to develop their careers in the commercial underwriting field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with analyzing commercial property and liability risks for new business submissions.
- Gather, review, and assess necessary documentation to ensure accurate risk evaluation.
- Support senior underwriters with application evaluations, setting appropriate coverage, and determining premiums.
- Help prepare underwriting files and documentation for final approval.
- Communicate effectively with brokers and agents to clarify submissions and gather required information.
- Respond to inquiries regarding coverage options and underwriting guidelines.
- Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory updates, and emerging risks related to commercial insurance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field.
- 1+ year of commercial underwriting experience (preferably with CMP products) is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of commercial property and casualty insurance principles.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional designations like CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) or AU (Associate in Underwriting) are an added advantage.
- Experience working in a multi-state environment and knowledge of state-specific regulations.
